| DO YOU OFFER OTHER TWINS ITEMS? |
YES!! AnnouncingTwins.com is a division of Amy's Card Creations, LLC. We wanted to have a site exclusively for our twins customers! Come see us! But don't forget to checkout here first. |
| CAN I ORDER BLANK, NON-PERSONALIZED CARDS? |
In a word, no. But we have a great reason for declining. :) All of our cards start from plain, white stock. No pre-printed borders or run of the mills stock designs offered here. So it doesn't save any money for us to print your cards without personalized information. We also decline to sell blank cards because we are SO personal and SO custom that we can arrange absolutely anything you could want, and quite frankly, we're professionals so it's going to look amazing! And if that's still not good enough, it's because we are so proud of our work and exclusive designs that we don't want to take a chance with them getting printed "at home" with questionable quality. |
| WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY ORDER? |
If your emailed proof has been sent, a 20% cancellation fee will apply. Time has gone into your order at that point and a full refund will not be issued under normal circumstances. We are reasonable, if there are extreme circumstances we will consider that on a per order basis. If your proof has not been setup, you may cancel incurring no extra charges. |
| DO YOU SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE US? |
Yes. BUT, we have had problems with deliveries getting through Customs in a timely manner in the past, so we have decided to exclusively offer UPS Worldwide Express service, which is NEXT DAY delivery. There may be occasions where the package could get held up at customs, but using this method we have not had any issues with that. |

| HOW DO I SEND MY PICTURE? |
After completing the order process, reply to your order confirmation email and attach the picture It is very important that you send the original photo file downloaded from the camera. For the best print quality your digital photo should be a high resolution jpg, it should be NO LESS than 500kb, but typically will be 2-5 mb. The quality of the final product will depend on the quality of the digital file we receive. Please do not submit your photo as a link to an online photo service (e.g., Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, Snapfish). Such services store the original, high resolution photo on their servers to use for printing but only show a low resolution version on the web, which is fine for viewing on a computer monitor but does not print with clarity.
Always send the original photo from your digital camera, shot in the highest resolution your camera will support. For those new to digital photography, photos taken in low resolution on the camera or converted to a lower resolution version once on the computer simply means that there are fewer pixels per inch (or less photo per inch). While you may not notice a difference on the screen or your home printer, our printing methods are more advanced and the output will be quite noticeable.
We know it's tempting to crop the photo or touch up something you don't want in the picture, please be assured that our designers are professionally trained and can do the best job of enhancing your photo. If you have very specific instructions, feel free to note that in the comments box when checking out, or in your email when you send the picture! |
| PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: |
When shooting the photo, be sure to use optimal lighting. If possible, use the natural light projecting from windows and doorways when the sun is bright. When outdoors, be sure to avoid direct sunlight on your subject(s) and if at all possible, wait for some cloud cover. Also in your viewfinder, look out for shadows that may appear in awkward places or particularly bright areas that may print almost whited out. The down side to trying to use natural light is that often there's just not quite enough and the digital camera will create poor color choices and will be grainy. You can see these with a discriminating eye...things that were white, show up as blues and faces may be splotchy, zoom in to check for these things after taking a few shots. When using a flash, be sure to keep some distance between you and the subject(s). A good rule of thumb is about 3 feet apart.
Always check your camera settings before you begin. Select the highest resolution and largest file your camera will support, typically these options are given on two levels, resolution size AND quality. Look for the largest dimensions and the finest or highest quality options. This will reduce the number of photos you can store on your camera disk or storage media, but will produce the best pictures.
The above are general guidelines only and may not work in all cases. If we feel the photo you submit will not print to our desired quality we will contact you about other options. |
| PHOTO SHOOT IDEAS & TIPS FOR TWINS: |
First of all, we understand you have or are expecting two little newborns that require a TON of time. We understand that there are many restrictions on time and energy, but we want to provide with the tools, whether or not you use them is up to you. :) We have some ideas here for you to help in taking pictures of your little angels!
VITAL TIPS: There are several very key things to remember that will be vital to a good picture YOUR PERSPECTIVE: Don't shoot a picture from your babies' feet, you will have a wonderful view of their nostrils and not much else. Also, don't place the babies in a way that they are a very different distance away from the camera, one will look huge and the other dwarfed. BABIES' VISUAL RELATION TO EACH OTHER: Try to have their heads very close to each other, if not touching.
Find a time of day in your home that the sun comes in very strong, create a little mini studio in front of that area. You don't want the direct sun glaring on them, just the light it's providing) You will stand or kneel or sit with your back to the windows and your babies will be facing them or slightly at an angle. You can use furniture on each side to pin a white or light colored sheet or blanket to create your backdrop. (remember building tents in your living room as a kid?!?!....same concept, but no roof) Next find a table, couch, bed, basinette or just some pillows that you can put UNDER your backdrop to have continuity from the back to the "floor" of your picture. With newborns, it is best to have just fed them, so they're content and happy to work with you! If you want naked or diaper pictures you may want to bring in a small heater and place it a safe distance away from the babies to keep them comfortably warm.
POSING BABIES: Use pillows or a single Boppy type pillow to nuzzle the twins close together, allow them to settle and take a test shot from a couple different angles and several different zoom levels, like standing over them to get them to look up at you (slightly), directly in front of them, but remember, never below to where you're looking up their noses. Think about what you're looking for in their announcement picture, do you want the best beautiful close up of their faces, a lovely torso shot, nose to nose, cheek to cheek? So take lots of pictures, have lots of fun and we look forward to seeing your babies debut picture!!
We wish you luck in your photography and all our best wishes for good health and happiness for your family! We are here for you, if you need help in any way we will do what we can to provide it for you!!
